Teresa Harvey joined Tiarna as
the Chief Financial Officer and Director of
Human Resources and Administrative Services. She
has over 19 years of real estate management
experience including human resource management,
property management, administrative and
accounting services. Ms. Harvey is directly
responsible for all aspects of the corporate
accounting and human resources program including
recruiting, testing and verifications,
orientation, training and development,
performance management programs, legal and
regulatory compliance, safety procedures,
benefit and payroll administration, employee
relations/retention and policy development.
Prior to joining Tiarna, Ms.
Harvey spent over 7 years as the Director of
Human Resources for Charles Dunn Company. During
her tenure, she supervised the employment of
over 450 employees, both in corporate and
regional offices and at all property locations.
She had a broad range of human resource
responsibilities and managed a small staff of
recruiters and human resource administrators.
Her strong presentation skills were also used to
keep managers updated on important or new labor
related items on a regular basis. She also
worked with several clients directly on
sensitive employment issues involving their
managed properties. Most importantly, she
promoted the company's mission of providing
excellent services to clients and tenants in the
fast paced real estate environment by
facilitating a team process that cares about
each staff member.
Charles Dunn Company initially
hired Ms. Harvey as a commercial property
accountant, working with primarily institutional
clients. She was promoted after two years to the
position of Assistant Commercial Controller,
with the additional responsibilities of
overseeing all commercial accounting reports,
recruiting and training new accountants, and
auditing and facilitating teamwork between
management and accounting. In 1989, she was
given the opportunity to transition into
property management working directly with the
President on receivership properties and then
with institutional owners on office and
industrial product. She developed excellent
rapport with both owners and tenants alike for
her strong management and organizational skills,
responsiveness and ease with multi-tasking,
flexibility, attention to detail, and "can do"
attitude.
Ms. Harvey has a BA Degree
in Accountancy from Northern Arizona University,
with a minor in personnel management. She has
completed the 300 and 400 level courses offered
by IREM towards her CPM designation. She
regularly attends seminars and extension courses
on various employment related topics. Ms. Harvey
is knowledgeable of state and federal labor laws
and has many resources available through her
contact of labor attorneys and State Chambers of
Commerce. She is currently pursuing her
certification through the Society for Human
Resource Management.
